What is 'ferment-on-site'?
Known by many different names such as a U-Brew, U-Vint, and many others, this is a service that we offer where you can design and ferment your wine, beer or cider kit in our facility, with our equipment for a $59 fee.
Ferment-On-Premise
Alberta legalized Ferment-on-Premise in December of 2018. Wine Kitz Montgomery was one of the first in Alberta to offer that service and we are continually improving our process & systems.
How Does it Work?
The process is quite easy!
Step 1
Stop by Wine Kitz Montgomery and we’ll help you select a Beer, wine, or cider kit. You can add ingredients & flavourings to make it a custom flavour!
Once you have decided which kit and ingredients (if any) you would like, we’ll complete the payment and paperwork, you then add the components, sprinkle the yeast, and day one is complete!
Step 2
You will be contacted once the wine is complete (4-8 weeks depending on the type of wine, beer or cider). At this point, you can schedule a bottling time. You will be provided with bottling day instructions.
Step 3
On bottling day, bring in your clean bottles, ready to be filled (or buy brand new ones in-store). You can use our equipment to sanitize your clean bottles. Don’t worry if you are a few bottles short, we sell a variety of bottles in any quantity that you need. You have the option of an optional sample of your finished product (120ml).
Now it is bottling time! Using our professional bottling equipment, bottling and corking will be done in about 30 minutes! We have a variety of shrink tops and labels available if you would like to add a personal touch to your bottles. At this point, your wine is yours to take home!
